Who we are

Daily Ten Trivia (dailytentrivia.com) publishes free daily sports trivia games about college athletic programs, such as South Bend Showdown. This policy covers every page on dailytentrivia.com. Questions about it can go to advertise@dailytentrivia.com.

Daily Ten Trivia is an independent fan site. It is not affiliated with any university, athletic conference or the NCAA, and no school receives information about you through this site.

Information saved in your browser

The games remember a few things so they work the way you expect. This information is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. It is never sent to us.

  • Which questions you've already seen, so practice rounds show new ones first
  • Your first score on each day's game, so your shared scorecard stays the same if you replay
  • Your best score and the practice category you picked last

You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for dailytentrivia.com. Your progress will start over.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a service from Google LLC, to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect information such as:

  • Pages you visit, how long you stay and the site that sent you here
  • Your device type, browser, screen size and approximate location (city or region), based on your IP address
  • Game activity we record: games started and finished, scores, which share button you tap (X, Instagram, text or copy), and clicks on sponsor logos, banner ads and our advertising page

This information doesn't include your name, email address or anything you type, and we don't use it to identify you. We use it to see which games and features people use, to improve the site, and to report totals to sponsors and advertisers.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services and in Google's Privacy Policy.

How to opt out

  • Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or use a private browsing window. The games still work.
  • Many browsers and ad blockers can block analytics scripts entirely.

Sponsorships and banner ads

The site is paid for by sponsors and advertisers. Each school's game may have a presenting sponsor, whose name or logo appears at the top of the game, and banner ads above or below the game board. The home page may also carry a banner ad.

  • We place these ads ourselves. Sponsor logos and banners are images hosted on our site. They do not load tracking code or cookies from the advertiser.
  • Sponsors get totals only. We may tell a sponsor how many games were played or how many people clicked their ad in a month. We never give sponsors or advertisers your IP address, device details or any information about you.
  • Clicking an ad takes you to the advertiser's website. Once you're there, that business's own privacy policy applies, and it may collect information about your visit.
  • Sponsor and ad links are marked as sponsored. A sponsor's appearance does not mean any university endorses that business.

If we ever add an outside advertising network, such as Google AdSense, that could use cookies to show ads, we will update this policy before it goes live.

Sharing your score

The share buttons open X, your messaging app or Instagram with your scorecard filled in, or copy it to your clipboard. We don't post anything for you, and we don't receive your messages, contacts or social media details. What you post is governed by that app's own privacy policy. Google Analytics records only which share button was tapped.

If you email us

If you write to us, for example about advertising, we'll use your email address and message only to reply and to handle your request. We don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask.

Children

The site is meant for a general audience of sports fans and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Selling and sharing information

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with others for their own marketing. The only outside service that receives information from your visits is Google Analytics, as described above.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information is held about you, to have it deleted, or to opt out of certain uses. We don't keep personal information on our own servers. For data collected by Google Analytics, use the opt-out options above. Google's controls are described in its privacy policy. You can also email us with any request and we'll help where we can.

Security

The site runs over a secure HTTPS connection. Because we don't run accounts or store personal information ourselves, there is very little about you for us to protect. No website is perfectly secure, though.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
